Obviously, this inspired a great deal of you, and we were thrilled to see it. This is why we decided to go on another little poke around the internet and bring you a second collection of female cosplayers who will bring out your inner artist.
Rei Ayanami
Cosplayer @mbellecco93 takes on the mysterious Rei Ayanami from the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" series. And it is nothing short of incredible! The curly blue wig is (in our books at least) a very cool upgrade to Rei's look. Plus, @mbellecco93 has red contact lenses, a red ribbon necktie, and a pale blue school uniform to complete the look.
This cosplayer is no stranger to dressing up. As seen on her Instagram page, @mbellecco93 has brought many characters to life, including Blossom from "the Powerpuff Girls and" Bunny from "Sailor Moon." There's no telling just how many more cosplays she could come up with.
Dolores
Thank you @amandajustvibin for warming the cockles of our hearts with this Disney Dolores from "Enchanto" cosplay. If watching the film didn't make your day then this cosplay surely will. It is clear that @amandajustvibin put a lot of effort into the deceptively simple costume.
But if we didn't know, we would have jumped to conclusions and guess that she was starring in a production of "West Side Story." Every element of the outfit is there, the curly updo, big red hair bow, and the off-the-shoulder blouse. We especially love her nod to the character's super-hearing abilities with her hand gesture.
Daki
Who doesn't love a stylish villain? Daki from "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is undoubtedly one of the most infamous and exquisitely dressed villains in the "Demon Slayer" universe. So it's no wonder that cosplayer @vayucosplay went for this look. And may we say, she nailed it!
But if you didn't know about this character, you wouldn't assume she was a villain based on the costume. DIY-ing a cosplay costume instead of purchasing the ensemble from head-to-toe is always the more impressive and creative way to go. We love @vayucosplay's attention to detail and her meticulously created Daki headpiece and floral face paint.
Itachi Uchiha
Trying to cosplay Itachi Uchiha, the former Anbu Captain turned international criminal from "Naruto" is no easy feat. That is why female cosplayer @ii_boss_girl_ii's take on the character is all the more impressive! Not only did she include an exact replica of Itachi's headpiece and robe but she also used her makeup skills to portray the character's iconic tear-troughs.
It seems that @ii_boss_girl_ii has just begun her cosplay journey. And if she was going for the "look at me twice and I swear I will send you to hell with one kick," then she absolutely nailed it. And we think it's safe to say that we're all waiting to see what she comes up with next!
Hermoine Granger
Now, we are really taken aback by this one. Did Emma Watson just get up one day and say, "You know what? I feel like reprising the role of Hermione again." Muggles who are still waiting for their acceptance letter to Hogwarts, this one is for you!
Cosplayer @shirogane_sama expertly accomplished this Hermoine Granger look from the "Harry Potter" franchise just as well as the character Hermoine accomplishes ...well...anything in the wizarding world. It's not just the Gryffindor robes and curly brown hair that we admire, but it is also the positively precious Hermoine smirk that this cosplayer has down!
Cotton Candy Garnet
While "Steven Universe" is filled with wonderfully wacky and whimsical characters, we have to say that Cotton Candy Garnet is our favorite. Apparently, cosplayer @sailorxtasy agrees! This cosplayer left no stone unturned when it came to this character recreation. She made sure to include the character's third eye and colorful afro.
Her cotton candy two-piece outfit is just so sweet that we can't help but hope that @sailorxtasy not only wears this ensemble to cosplay events but also to run her daily errands. The question is though - can she actually see out of that third eye? Because if the answer's yes, what things can she see that we can not?
Rainbow Brite
This colorful cosplay @mskittynoir is just too cool. She is channeling none other than Rainbow Brite from the show of the same name. While @mskittynoir does not seem to cosplay on the regular, when she does, it is certainly show-stopping. This Rainbow Brite recreation is so accurate that it is clear that it is more about quality cosplay looks than quantity for @mskittynoir.
The wholesome character uses all the colors at her disposal to bring love and peace to the world. Now, if this doesn't spell out "cute" in the form of a costume, we don't know what will. Also, can someone tell us where we can buy that adorable little bag from?
Ulala
How could this rambunctious rainbow ensemble not bring a smile to your face? Cosplayer @airyucat stylishly stepped it up with this exceptional Ulala from "Space Channel Five" cosplay. Just look at that rainbow guitar. That instrument alone was worth all of the effort that went into this costume.
Not only has @airyucat got the Ulala pink pigtails sorted, but she also has an exact replica of Ulula "hairdryer" gun, as well as the rainbow guitar. We wonder though if that thing can actually play music. At the very least, we expect multicolored music notes to fly out of it. Bonus, she found the PERFECT wall to pose in front of.
Jinx
From taking on Venti from "Windborne Bard" to Spider Demon from "Kimetsu no Yaiba" it is crystal clear that @kellybatissta is no novice when it comes to the cosplay universe. In fact, we would go as far as to say that she is an extremely experienced cosplayer, who has already added many strings to her bow.
Just take a look at her Jinx cosplay from "League of Legends." Her attention to every Jinx detail is jaw-dropping, to say the least. She truly went the extra mile by meticulously painting Jinx's cloud-inspired tattoos all over her body and procuring "Pow Pow" and "Fishbone," the character's wacky weapons of choice.
Ponyo
Ponyo from the film of the same name is a beloved Studio Ghibli character. What makes Ponyo particularly special is that she has a human form AND a goldfish form. Not only that but she's also a demi-goddess since her mother is a goddess and her father was a mere mortal. Don't ask us how this ended up happening, just enjoy the animation please.
Before we digress any further, we need to say that we love @radpeachie's take on the character. Not only does she have Ponyo's iconic and pointy red hair perfectly sculpted but she has also added bubbles to the picture as a nod to the character's fishy form.
Esmerelda
It is safe to say that Esmerelda, the lady with a heart of gold from "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" is a nostalgic Disney favorite. That's why we couldn't be more delighted to see cosplayer @dreayumeicosplay's exquisite Esmerelda ensemble. Again, this cosplayer absolutely knocked it out of the park - and it's not hard to see why.
She looks like she just stepped straight out of the film (yes we know it is animated, but have some imagination people) and into this Instagram post. Check out this cosplayer's page to get an almost continuous stream of incredible cosplay content! It never ends!
Raiden Shogun
Born in China but now based in the United States, @yayahan is a completely self-taught, super DIY cosplayer who has crafted close to 300 costumes from a range of anime series and comic books, as well as video games and films. Some of her designs are even original creations. She has appeared as a guest judge on King of the Nerds, a highly popular TBS reality show.
Here she's dressed as Raiden Shogun from "Genshin Impact" and we're pretty sure she gets the show's fans' seal of approval. Han has also been featured on the Syfy program, "Heroes of Cosplay," making her one of the leading female voices in the community.
Riven Arcade
There is no denying that @aspirinaspra is a dedicated cosplayer who works around the clock to perfect her costumes, wigs, and makeup. But that's not all. It is clear from this Instagram post that she cosplayed Riven from "League of Legends" to absolute perfection. Seriously, look at the size of that blade!
Riven is not only a swordmaster and fierce fighter, but she also has some incredibly colorful and funky armor to boot! She is a great character for talented cosplayers like @aspirinaspra to bring to life. With "Arcane" currently on Netflix, it makes sense that so many are cosplaying "LoL" characters.
Ahri
Ahri, the nine-tailed fox from "League of Legends" is in good hands. No one does Ahri better than the New York-based cosplayer @stellachuuuuu. But her work doesn't end there. Unlike most of her fellow cosplayers who are pretty tight-knit in their community, Stella seeks to spread the culture to a mainstream audience and as a former burlesque performer also exposed the culture to other art forms.
Her DIY costumes have received a lot of praise, especially from the Master Yi cosplayers, Devil Homura, and of course, Ivy Valentine. Her quirky personality has landed her publications such as Mashable, Tech Insider, Nerdist, Kotaki, and more.
Secret Agent Miss Fortune
@rinnieriotcosplay, if you don't know is the pen name for the world-renowned Canadian artist who creates digital anime versions of popular Western cartoon characters from Disney, Warner Brothers, and Cartoon Network. She's an incredible Chinese cosplayer that embodies characters perfectly.
Rinnie is actually one of the original cosplayers in the community who is also a hard-core gamer. Here she is cosplaying as Secret Agent Miss Fortune from "League of Legends." But had we not known that, we would gone out on a limb and thought that she was doing some kind toned down rendition of Jessica Rabbit. That's why context is everything.
Arthur Pendragon
@reika_japan_ is a superstar in the anime fan and cosplay community and is most widely known for her jaw-dropping crossplay looks which incorporate the art of embodying opposite genders. Her male cosplays truly demonstrate both her masculine and feminine sides. She is also an incredible makeup artist.
Here she portrays Arthur Pendragon from "Fate/Prototype." Of course, Arthur Pendragon is very different in British mythology, but in this anime, he's very different. Aside from her uncanny male cosplays, she also has the ability and unparalleled skill in crafting some of the most intricate costumes in just a few days. There is a reason she's cosplay royalty.
Pudding
It is hard to pick a specific cosplay by the Tawinase icon, @nennenko. She has famously portrayed an array of popular anime characters from various genres in her signature "Lolita" style of cosplay and incredible makeup skills. Nenko, together with Dream Project, has her own brand of key chains that just about every anime fan has. Seriously, if you don't have them, what are you waiting for?
This cosplay is just incredible. She's dressed as Pudding from "Tokyo Mew Mew." Some of her favorite characters to cosplay are Tsushima Yoshiko and Kurosawa Ruby and she is also a huge fan of the multimedia project Love!Live!Sunshine!
Shinobu Kocho
@monpink_mon is possibly one of the most popular cosplayers in Taiwan and is so obsessed with the performance of cosplay. So much so that she has even been spotted on multiple occasions doing regular everyday activities such as grocery shopping in colorful cosplay costumes.
Here we see her portray Shinobu Kocho, from "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba." As you can see, dying her is just part and parcel of the cosplay game and she plays it well. Her fans are incredibly drawn to her talent and artistry, which adds an extra dimension to the already creative characters that she portrays.
Atago
ChiangJiaJu, or more widely known as @misa72600 is a Taiwanese-based cosplayer who has been in the game since 2010. Her most iconic look is as the character Atago from "Azur Lane." She has seen her fair share of conventions and festivals and has been a guest of honor at 30 of them.
The talented Taiwanese cosplayer has also been a judge at several international cosplay conventions making her an icon in the community. Her favorite cosplays include characters from "No Game No Life," "League of Legends," "Shakugan no Shana," and much, much more. Still at such a young age, there's no telling what else she could achieve.
Thief
Another leading cosplayer, Lyz Brickley is a hard-core fan of the anime and video game world. As an "Edios" fan, she best embodies the character Thief. She also brings her passions to her popular YouTube channel "ButtercupBrix" where she discusses all of the latest in anime and cosplay culture. And that's not all.
Lyz loves to embody a range of Pokemon Go trainers, Asuka Langley Soryu and one of the fan favorites, Jinx from "League of Legends." In addition to making fun videos and interesting reviews on a variety of anime series and games, she also models professionally. She pretty much does it all.
Houshou Marine
When it comes to experience, Ely, the Taiwanese cosplayer sure is in the lead. She is mostly known for wowing her fans with her SAO (Sword Art Online). Ely also prides herself on her complex and high-quality costumes, working hard to perfectly embody the characters that she portrays.
Houshou Marine is a red-haired pirate with heterochromatic eyes is a popular cosplay choice. Well, @eelyee absolutely nails this swashbuckling look! All of those reds just bounce off her in such an awesome way. She shot to fame in the East Asian cosplay community mostly for her notable and spot-on portrayal of Sakuya from the "Touhou" series.
Star Guardian Xayah
The South Korean-born cosplayer @aza_miyuko, who is best known for her Star Guardian Xayah cosplay, is another leader in the anime world. Like Tasha Cosplay, she also began with the group Spiral Cats. While she did leave in 2013, she is still an active member of the cosplay community even if she is focusing on her studies.
Currently, she is a fashion design student, so, of course, with her nearly eight-year-long cosplay background, she can really shine in this field by creating all of her stunning outfits. Seriously, she really know how to rock those fluorescent colors, both on the clothes and in her hair.
Tron
Cosplayer AniMia got her start in the spotlight in modeling in 2001 before she fell into the cosplay community. It was only in 2008 that she fell in love with the art form. Now a world-famous star in the cosplay community, AniMia is now professionally judging cosplay competitions around the world.
With a background in modeling, she has managed to combine these two worlds and has appeared on the cover of many magazines. She is sponsored by Crunchyroll and is pursuing this full-time. Here, we can see her cosplaying as a character from the popular "Tron" film franchise. And we think she absolutely nailed it.
Sakura
The queen of Eve cosplay, Amie Lynne entered the world of cosplay in around 2009. It was then when she first tried out cosplay from Code Geass and realized that she had stumbled on a life-changing moment. Amie Lynn works hard on creating and crafting her garments completely alone, whether it be armor for "Final Fantasy's" Lighting or her head-to-toe Sakura ensemble.
While her cosplays are impeccable, she still insists that it is just a hobby and she is not a purist when it comes to the art form. Look at this costume though! It's so adorable and makes her look like she came straight out of an animation epic!
Cybergirl
Here we have Alodia Gosiengfia, possibly the most famous Filipina cosplayer in the world and hands-down the greatest Cybergirl cosplayer there is. In 2003, after being a judge for a string of anime conventions, Gosiengfia became increasingly more recognized. Her role in the cosplay community has landed her several endorsement deals for skin brands, sushi restaurants, fashion lines, and more.
In addition to that, Gosiengfia was even once dubbed the most influential person in the Philippines. Now that is a huge accolade, if we do say so ourselves. Truth be told though, we do believe there are more impressive costumes on this list.
Deathwing
This originally Kiwi-born superstar cosplayer is probably the most recognized name in the industry. Jessica Nigiri got some pretty big attention for her iconic Deathwing cosplay from "World of Warcraft" in 2014. Since then, she has continued with her work of portraying painstakingly creative versions of anime or game characters. She has even voiced Super Sonico in the English dubbed anime.
Nigri now lives in the United States and continues her cosplay work there, sometimes collaborating with big gaming companies such as Kodakawa Games, Ubisoft, and Tecmo Koei. But look at this photo. Look at how much work went in to all the nitty-gritty details in this costume!
The Grinch
@jannetincosplay is a cosplayer that shot to fame for embodying a female version of the Christma-hating Grinch. While she doesn't actually have any problem with the Holidays herself, Jannet absolutely loves the film starring Jim Carrey and just had to create her own rendition of the green monster.
Not only does she make impeccable costumes, but she is also an expert wig stylist who has put together some pretty complex hairdos. She has been in the game since 2012. While Jannet is a dedicated cosplayer with a studio she constantly works in, she also is a qualified vet! It looks like the cosplay world takes up most of her time though.
Mashu Kyrielight
Linda Le or more famously known as @vampybitme is a Vietnamese-American cosplayer who is now California-based. While she pulls off a fantastic Mashu Kyrielight from "Grand Order," she does a lot more than that. @vampybitme is largely popular for embodying many different characters from various films, anime series, and games.
The cosplaying creative has been applauded for her cosplayer accomplishments, even being the guest of honor at the 2013 Singapore ComicCon. And let's just highlight the elephant in the room - if you're Instagram handle basically suggests that you were once bit by a vampire - then we are instantly more interested.
Ahri
Tasha Cosplay hails from South Korea and is arguably one of the biggest names from there. Her meticulous recreation of Ahri, a "fox-like vastaya" from "League of Legends" just shows how dedicated she is to her cosplay craft. Have you seen the show "Arcane" on Netflix? You know, the really good animated series? Too obscure? Well, it's from the same franchise.
Anyway, Tasha Cosplay leads a cosplay group named the Spiral Cats who focus their cosplay work mainly on characters from the gaming world and have even collaborated with Riot Games and Blizzard. Now if that's not a compliment, we don't know what is.
Black Widow
"Avengers" fan-favorite and Marvel-mainstay Black Widow, A.K.A. Natalia Alianovna Romanov is perfectly portrayed here by cosplayer @sydneyblossom. Black Widow brings a lot to the "Avengers" table, including stealth abilities, incredible intellect, and world-class hand-to-hand combat and gymnastic skills.
Many fans were heartbroken when (spoiler alert) she perished in "Avengers: Endgame." But this didn't stop Marvel from making a standalone Black Widow movie after her passing. And, it didn't stop thousands of cosplayers around the world from dressing up as her. And it's no wonder that @sydneyblossom wanted to cosplay this fierce female powerhouse. She completes Black Widow's iconic bodysuit with her even more iconic red hair.
Harley Quinn
Now we know you may be thinking "This isn't Harley Quinn." But believe it or not, this IS actually Harley Quinn, from the original comic book series and not the Harley Quinn we know from films such as "Suicide Squad" and "Birds of Prey." This cosplayer is the QUINN-tessential Harley.
The slightly wacky and quirky Quinn makes for a perfect villainous clown counterpart to the Joker. We're pretty sure that this cosplayer's ensemble, from her face paint, clown hat, and bodysuit would do even the most die-hard Batman comic book fans proud. That's no joke! P.S. We would love to see Harley wear this costume in live action.
Black Cat
Spider-Man's enduring love interest, Felicia Hardy, likes to spend her nights stealing from the wealthy in her anti-heroine persona — Black Cat. This is one cosplay that definitely made us go “MEOWWWW!” as the wonderful CutiePieSensei managed to portray the character to the letter. Truth be told, she kind of looks like a cross between Storm and Catwoman.
Despite this, everything from the hair to the costume, and even her impressive physique was captured perfectly, which is why we ended up putting this on our list! You can check her out at @CutiePieSensei on Instagram to see more of what she can do.
X-23
Do you remember that little girl in the film "Logan?" Well, that was actually X-23. And while most people might confuse this cosplay as Wolverine, this is actually the aforementioned character - a female clone of Logan and later the adopted daughter of him. She shares many of the character’s abilities, except that she has two claws on her hands (instead of three).
Plus, she has an additional claw at the end of each foot. She was portrayed in the picture by @dannylyziser who did an incredible job of bringing the character to life. You could even say she clawed her way to land on this list of incredible female cosplayers!
Pink Ranger
Cosplayer @bermudez_maira Angela Domanico took it upon herself to outdo all of the "Power Rangers" cosplayers who came before her to create the ultimate Pink Ranger. She not only managed to do that but honestly blew away everyone’s expectations into the water in the process. She is absolutely nailing it as the Pink Ranger.
Her suit was made by Halu Costumes (who, by the way, specialize in "Power Ranger" suits in case you want one!) and her helmet was made by Aniki Cosplay. Everything from the suit to the stylish helmet was the result of various entities and artists, brought together by this cosplayer's powerful creativity.
Spider-Woman
We think it's a crime that Jessica Drew A.K.A Spider-Woman is yet to be portrayed in her own superhero film franchise, especially since there are...ahem countless Spider-Man films. Well, luckily @chrystafettcosplay is doing her part to bring Spider-Woman to our screens, even if it is just our phone screens. And boy, she is doing a fantastic job!
She has the look down! Dark hair? Check! Spidey-suit? Check! Powerful spidey stance? Double-check! We think film studios should consider this cosplayer for the starring role. Worst case scenario, cast Aubrey Plaza in the role, because this cosplayer looks pretty similar to the "Parks and Rec" star.
Sakura
It's hard to imagine a better cosplay for a Naruto character than this beautiful portrayal of the show's character, Sakura. She is one of the leading protagonists of the manga and anime, thanks to her skills as a ninja. Despite starting out as little more than Naruto's love interest, she quickly turned into a strong character that broke many stereotypes of the time.
Sakura was cosplayed by the Spanish model Dids, who is a long-time fan of the show. Her Instagram account @didsrainfall features many other fantastic Japanese cosplays. These seem to come naturally to her, as she has a very anime-type face and figure.
Kim Possible
Let's face it, everyone knew that Kim Possible had the potential of becoming an incredibly hot cosplay character, and this woman definitely proved it with her go at the character. She can be seen here wearing the same work pants and tool belt, along with the long-sleeved shirt that reveals her fit abs.
The cosplayer even dyed her hair for this one and managed to perfectly recreate the character, albeit in a much hotter way. We've already promoted her channel in a previous entry, but just as a reminder, you can check out the Australian's work on Instagram with the handle @lola_v_cosplay.
Cyclops
We've never thought the Cyclops, one of the X-Men's leaders, could be nearly as hot or as beautiful as this cosplayer managed to make him. And yet, here we are. This impressive cosplayer is about to burn us to a crisp with those rays that come from her eyes.
This is one of the best gender-bender cosplays we've seen, maybe ever, and it was done by none other than Camila Menezes. You can find her on Instagram with the handle of @camenezesx, where she does many other male Marvel characters and turns them into sexy vixens. She even did Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z, which is quite impressive considering that even guys have trouble turning him into a real-life character.
Nebula and Gamora
Talk about superpower siblings! These IRL sisters stunned us with their incredible cosplay of fictional sisters Nebula and Gamora from the "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise. They are so moody! Truth be told, the sisters from this film series weren't sisters - by blood. And that probably explains why they bumped heads with each other all the time.
We are doubly impressed with their costumes, truth be told. Just the face makeup and body paint alone ought to earn the pair an award or maybe even a cameo in the next "Guardians of the Galaxy" film. Hollywood are you paying attention?
Superwoman
This awesome cosplay was done by the same cosplayer from our previous Aquawoman entry. Laney Jade is hands down one of the best cosplayers in the world and treats the venture as much more than just a hobby. She can be seen here portraying the powerful Superwoman, who recently got her very own TV show.
You can follow Laney Jade on Instagram at @laneyfeni, where she has generated tens of thousands of dedicated fans and followers over the years. She consistently makes the “best of” lists for cosplays, which is no surprise considering the quality, dedication, and love she has for her craft.
Black Panther
"Black Panther" broke many of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's records when it was first released, and became one of their most beloved and best-selling films of all time. What really made it unique is that the cast featured almost entirely diverse characters, and made for a flick that everyone could be proud of.
Popular cosplayer and artist @cutiepiesensei is the one featured in this image. She loves doing cosplay for popular video games and comic book characters and is a regular at Comic-Con. With almost 200,000 followers, she seems to be doing quite well for herself. All we have to say is - good for her!
Ant-Man
We love a gender-flipped cosplay! @mint.choco.octo chose to put a feminine spin on the beloved Ant-Man superhero. There have been many iterations of Ant-Man - most notably from Hank Pym and Scott Lang. And then Mint Choco Octo came along and turned the Ant-Man world upside down.
While Ant-Man may be miniature-sized, there is nothing small about this cosplayer's effort. Not only does she have the bodysuit down, but added her own Ant-Man-inspired flair. Check out her deep red wig, matching masterful red eye shadow, and of course the fun heart and ant shapes. We love a cosplayer who stays on theme!
Elektra
Fans of the "Daredevil" comic book can instantly recognize this cosplay as Elektra. She is the primary love interest of the lead hero, although her violent nature and tendency to kill people often get in their way. When you're name is Elektra Natchios, you know you mean business.
The character was portrayed in 2005 by Jennifer Garner, but it seems that this @bodygirl85 did just as good a job (ahem... if not better) at portraying Elektra. Just look at the sai (a traditional Asian pronged weapon) she's holding. She is certainly not someone to mess with, whether it be in the manic Marvel universe or IRL.
Jessica Rabbit
While most characters on this list can be cosplayed using a costume and some great makeup, Jessica Rabbit requires a very specific type of person. To pull off a successful cosplay of the character, you would need a beautiful face that would make even Marilyn Monroe jealous, and a very specific... curvature to match.
This cosplayer managed to not only use all of these assets to her advantage but literally created the best Jessica Rabbit cosplay we think we might have ever seen. If there ever is a movie about the character, this is exactly what she should look like.
Punisher
You might get confused by the immaculate makeup of this cosplayer @p0ison_ before seeing the massive skull on her outfit. She is cosplaying as none other than Frank Castle, who is known as The Punisher in Marvel's comic books and cinematic universe. The character is a self-confessed killer who expertly and brutally takes down various criminals without even blinking.
There is nothing cooler than breaking boundaries and cosplaying as any character regardless of gender. We're not sure if there is a Francesca Castle in the comics, but who cares? Ultimately that's what cosplay is all about right? expressing yourself and your love of a particular character!
Sailor Jupiter
Not many people are aware of just how big "Sailor Moon" used to be back when it ran as a manga in the '90s. People of all ages around the world are still in love with this iconic manga series. The franchise generated over $13 billion in merchandise and sold over 35 million mangas worldwide.
Cosplayer, Twitch streamer, and self-confessed Anime lover @lucythemoonrabbit posted this awesome cosplay of one of the franchise's characters. We are anime-zed (see what we did there?) at how well this look came together. Plus, her makeup skills are on point! Just check out that cat eye.
Captain Marvel
Marvel fans were thrilled when they found out that Captain Marvel was being imported onto the big screen, especially with Brie Larson at the helm. Carol Danvers has had a mixed reception from fans around the world, but she is a pretty good answer to DC's Wonder Woman. At any rate, it is clear from this Instagram post that @ashleygreer315 could have easily worked on set as Larson's double for the film!
Given that Captain Marvel's powers include super-strength and agility, @ashleygreer315, who is a fitness trainer and describes herself as a "Fitmom," is the perfect candidate for Captain Marvel cosplay. Plus she's got the perfect blonde curls to complete the look!
Captain America
Captain America is one of the most beloved superheroes in all of Marvel's lineup. The Captain, who came into existence in 1942 at the height of World War Two was everything America could have hoped for. Unfortunately, at the time, we don’t think America was ready for this sweet female version of the beloved hero but cosplayers today sure are.
While we are missing the captain’s iconic shield, there is no doubt that this version of the character is much sexier. And the best part? You can purchase this costume practically anywhere online for close to nothing! Of course, a woman did wield the shield in Captain Carter, but that's not this.
Deadpool
Deadpool is known for his quick wit and even quicker killer moves. Well Lady Deadpool A.K.A Wanda Wilson deserves just as much if not more admiration as her male counterpart. As a former member of the X-Women, she knows a thing or two about kicking butt! And that's just putting it lightly!
In this picture, cosplayer @missbricosplay did a fantastic job at recreating Lady Deadpool. We also love that she used some creative freedom and decided to rock a long blonde hairdo as opposed to Lady Deadpool's traditional high ponytail. Not sticking to conventions is exactly what the character would do!
The Bride
Anyone looking to recreate a strong, lead female character from a Quentin Tarantino film is quite alright in our books. This one above is a fantastic cosplay of the iconic Bride from the two "Kill Bill" films by the esteemed director.
The costume was purchased for under $150 from the Sugarpuss online clothing store. It doesn’t come with the sword, but you shouldn’t have a problem finding a fake (or real) katana if you live in a mid to large-sized city. This model managed to recreate a perfect cosplay of the Bride and she definitely looks like someone you do not want to mess with.
Snow White
Snow White cosplays are about as common as they get, as this Disney princess has been around longer than many of the others. Just like most of the popular Disney princesses, many have tried to perfect their look but few have managed to pull off quite as perfect a job as this young lady!
The combination of high-quality fabric, an original wig, and some masterful makeup go a long way and make this one into one of the best Snow White cosplays of all time! If there was anything else we could possibly ask for of this dead-on portrayal of Snow White, it would be the addition of her seven height-challenged, bearded little friends.
Samus
Whoever said that male gamers don’t love strong female characters should take a serious look at Samus Aran from Nintendo’s "Metroid" video game series. This fierce intergalactic bounty hunter was first introduced in the original 1986 game on the NES and remains as one of the video games' most beloved lead characters.
In fact, players can be Samus in the classic "Super Smash Bros." game, but we are veering a little bit away from the point. As seen in this Instagram post, @meganrandom accomplished this spectacular Samus cosplay by paying attention to detail. Her blonde wig, helmet, and full-Samus-inspired bodysuit make for the perfect cosplay costume.
Pennywise
Pennywise terrified readers and viewers in both the original Stephen King novel and the two "It" films released in recent years. The clown attracts children using various manipulations, feeds on their deepest fears, and ends up eating them for his own delight. We hear he's just the loveliest guy.
Somehow, @jennimakiranta manages to simultaneously stun us and scare us with this creepy clown cosplay. We are not yet sure how Stephen King would react to his horror villain turning into a beautiful and alluring model, but we doubt he would disapprove of this stunning cosplay work! We're so glad we're not kids anymore.
Pepper Potts
Mix one part of "Iron Man" with a very fiery red-haired lady and you'll get this genius Pepper Potts cosplay by @larissa.cosplay_. Technically speaking, Potts is the superheroine Rescue when she dons the iconic iron suit. But let's not digress too much.
While Larissa cosplays as various popular comic book characters (as seen on her Instagram page), we have to say that this costume is our favorite! While Pepper Pots is usually only remembered as Tony Stark A.K.A. Iron Man's love interest and eventually his wife, she ends up kicking some serious tail in her own right. Suited up in custom Iron Man armor, she matches up to the superhero's super-speed and strength with ease.
Kitana
Princess Kitana was first introduced to gamers in "Mortal Kombat II," the sequel to the brutal arcade fighting game which shattered popularity records. Many players often find themselves playing as her and yelling the iconic "Finish Him!" just before winning a match. We have to say we are big fans of this cosplayer's outfit! Get it?... Big fans...
This ensemble honestly looks like something straight out of the game, as we literally couldn’t find anything that isn’t spot-on about it. If you’re in the mood for dressing as one of "Mortal Kombat’s" lead female fighters, let @kangelicx be your inspiration.
Raven
What do you get when a demon and a human have a baby? Well according to DC Comics, you get Raven, the ultimate hooded empath. Raven also goes by the alias Rachel Ross (we wonder if the popular love saga from "Friends" was inspired by this - probably not, but we can only hope).
Anyway, @venustea.cos truly brought this superhero to life. Just check out the velvet hood, purple hair, and those eyes! Yes yes, we know they are contact lenses, but we can not say that we weren't mesmerized by those purple eyes for a few moments. No filter? This is truly impressive!
Mantis
Who could forget the adorable character of Mantis? You probably remember the hilarious and cute alien from the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films. In case you don't, here's the scoop -- Mantis has the ability to feel other people's emotions and can even change them.
She was recently spotted at an LA street party being cosplayed by @lianne507 (who also uses the Instagram handle @lianne.cosplay). Although she has one of the lowest amount of followers on our list, Lianne is doing some of the most creative and unique portrayals we've ever seen. You should definitely check her workout. We guarantee you’ll be amazed by her creativity.
Batgirl
It is truly amazing just how realistic and accurate this Batgirl cosplay is! It was made recently by the beautiful and talented Lola V, who decided it was time to dawn the bat cape. Although Ruby Rose ended up doing a great job portraying the character on the popular CW show, Lola is definitely doing the costume justice strutting along among us humans.
You can check out more of Lola V’s ventures on Instagram at @lola_v_cosplay. She is originally from New Zealand and currently lives in Australia. Outside of cosplaying, Lola is an avid dancer, geek, gamer, and world traveler. So yeah, she's pretty busy.
Hades
Out of all the characters that one can flip the gender switch on, we never thought that Hades from the "Hercules" cartoon film would be on that list! Well, this cosplayer gives the male Hades a run for his money. Everything from the asymmetrical dark robe, and white face paint, to the snarky eyebrow raise, she truly turned the Hades look into her own.
However, the absolute best part has got to be this cosplayer's take on Hades' flame hair. The spiked-up blue mohawk is the PERFECT addition to this hell-raising look. Who knew mixing a bit of punk with Greek mythology would work so well?
Dr. Strange
You may remember Dr. Strange as the time-and-matter manipulating wizard from the popular Marvel comic books and films. Although he was always a bit of an unconventional character, we never thought he would work so well when portrayed by a female! This version of the character was perfected by cosplay artist, @rachelmeiklecosplay.
This definitely wasn’t the model’s first daring cosplay, as she’s been known to take on various other non-conventional characters. We won’t spoil these for you, and urge you to check out her Instagram channel at @rachelmeiklecosplay. Most of her costumes are handmade and she has a relatively small following, so go ahead and give her a thumbs-up! She’ll surely appreciate it.
Storm
Many actresses and models have tried to successfully recreate the weather-controlling X-Men character, Storm, and many have unfortunately failed. This character has had many looks in the past and is extremely hard to recreate in real life due to her unique and exotic appearance. But it seems like someone has made it happen.
Whoever this cosplayer is, we can say for a fact that she did an amazing job portraying the character! She chose to stick to the original comic-book rendition of Storm, which in our opinion is the most iconic version you can get. However, we must say that Halle Berry also did an amazing rendition of the character.
Wonder Woman
This cosplayer graced the London Comic Con with her wonderful recreation of Wonder Woman. She managed to perfectly recreate the iconic outfit, including the headpiece, armor, and those boots! Over the last decade, the character has been made famous by actress Gal Gadot, who became a household name for her role as Princess Diana Prince (the character, not the Royal princess).
One thing is for sure, this cosplayer takes this look to the next level with her confidence and powerful pose. It just goes to show that our (human) powers truly come from within. And we have to say something about those heels. Pretty epic if you ask us.
The Wasp
You might remember the Wasp from the 2018 Marvel film "Ant-Man and the Wasp." The character was originally portrayed by Canadian actress Evangeline Lilly. During a recent Comic-Con, this female cosplayer took a jab at the character and managed to reproduce the costume almost perfectly.
Lilly first rose to fame when she got the role of Kate Austen in the ABC series "Lost" from 2004 to 2010. This model has the innate ability to transform herself into many more characters from much-loved comic books and movies. Today the actress/cosplayer mostly works as a children's books author. All we can say is, "Lucky kids."
Daenerys Targaryen
Daenerys Targaryen immediately became one of the most popular characters worldwide after appearing on the monster-hit show "Game of Thrones." She was portrayed by Emilia Clarke, a relatively unknown actress, that is now a household name. And say what you want about that final season, but there was something so striking about seeing the Mother of Dragons fall from grace.
It's no secret that Khaleesi's final season character arc was certainly...controversial. However, we're pretty sure that "Game of Thrones" fans would find nothing to complain about this cosplayer's Daenerys dress-up. Just looking at her has us watching out for nearby dragons.
Domino
Domino became a popular female comic book character when she was portrayed by the beautiful Zazie Beetz in the hit Ryan Reynolds film, "Deadpool 2." She ended up being cosplayed by the gorgeous Unique Sora, a fine arts student that loves to portray some of the world's most popular comic book and video game characters.
Her Instagram handle is @uniquesora, which has amassed hundreds of thousands of followers over the years. This cosplayer is also an avid LGBTQ+ supporter and is currently in a relationship with the beautiful @khyvacraft. The two often cosplay together and love kissing as iconic characters from popular films.
Tomb Raider
Whether you're a video gamer or just love seeing characters in cosplay, there is a good chance you’ve already come across the beautiful Lara Croft! This female heroine was one of the first popular female video-game characters and literally launched the action-adventure gaming genre as the female Indiana Jones.
She's portrayed here by @enjinight, a cosplayer and costume artist based in Hungary, Budapest. This beautiful cosplayer has almost a million followers and is one of the most popular Instagrammers in her field. Most of her costumes are based on video game characters. We’ve heard from good sources that her photos are responsible for enough gamer drool to fill a football stadium!
Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn
Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy have always been two major threats to the vigilant Batman. The combination of psychotic chaos and seductive nature almost has gotten the Dark Knight into trouble many, many times. The two have worked together often throughout the Batman universe, and make a beautiful duo when portrayed in cosplay.
These costumes were recently done by cosplayers Ryoko-Demon and Rei-Doll, who made their entire costume and makeup up by hand. You can follow them on Instagram at @ryoko_demon and @rei.doll. We sure hope to see this dynamic duo in action at Comic-Con for many, many years to come!
Hellgirl
The "Hellboy" franchise didn’t have the smoothest comeback into theaters when they attempted their return with the 2019 box office failure starring David Harbour as the titular character. Perhaps it would have done much better if the film had portrayed this hell-of-a-cosplayer as its main actress.
This perfect portrayal of the hardcore heathen makes us want to keep a horseshoe on our belts. Anything to look THAT cool! Heck, even the sawn-off horns and the hands stay incredibly true to the original design. Is there even a Hell Girl in the comics? We're not so clued up, but if there isn't, there should be now!
Valkyrie
Filipina cosplayer @maweezy has made it her passion and business to go around Comic-Cons and cosplay as beautiful female characters. She loves to try out various edgy gender-bender roles and doesn't shy away from portraying popular anime villains either.
This up-and-coming cosplayer has plenty of Instagram followers, and gives geeks and gamers an excuse to keep checking and refreshing their Instagram channel! Outside of the fantasy world, she’s also a full-time Registered Nurse. Now that’s hot. As for this costume, she is obviously cosplaying as the awesome Valkyrie, one of Thor's allies who ends up becoming the king of New Asgard on Earth.
Elsa and Anna
Cosplayer @annafaith and @lexiegracelove took to Instagram to show off their absolutely accurate take on the famous "Frozen" sisters Elsa and Anna. Not only are the dresses, wigs, and make-up on point, but the two are actually sisters in real life! Now that's a level of commitment that we have never seen before in our lives.
It seems that the sisters share a lot more in common than just being "Frozen" fans. The two both share a love for cosplay and have created many looks as shown on their respective Instagram pages. What a fierce family. We just hope they were prepared to sing "Let it Go" together for their Tik Tok account.
She-Hulk
Cosplayer aficionado Gwen Ruby put on her classic white and purple suit, covered herself in green paint and transformed into the powerful She-Hulk. We don't know how long exactly it took Gwen to paint most of her body hulky-green, from the near-perfect result.
But we are pretty sure it took a lot longer than the usual split-second Hulk transformation. We wish we could pull off the strong and powerful she-hulk half as well as Gwen does! We guess we should get back to eating our greens? And no, don't get us started on the Disney+ show about the green superheroine. This cosplay will do just fine instead.
Aquawoman
When we think of Aquaman, most of us immediately picture the hunky Jason Momoa in his iconic costume. This was true until @delanytalks_tostatues, an avid cosplay creative, showed off her exciting take on Aquawoman A.K.A Mera. According to DC Comics, Aquawoman is the leader of the underwater land of Atlantis.
She uses her rather intimidating trident and hydrokinesis abilities to control water! If only humans had gills because then this cosplayer would be able to really complete the look. To be fair, there is a long history in comics of male superheroes having female versions and vice versa. Batwoman, The Mighty Thor, Captain Carter, Ironheart - the list goes on and on.
Princess Bean
You might know Princess Bean from the satirical Netflix fantasy web sitcom, "Disenchantment." The show follows the story of Princess Bean, an alcohol-loving and rebellious “heroine.” The character was almost perfected here by @paladinofstars. The attention to detail is truly enchanting! Just look at those freckles, bringing out the essence of Princess Bean effortlessly.
@paladinofstars' Instagram page is an absolute treasure trove of creativity, featuring an impressive array of cosplays ranging from iconic characters in "Star Wars" to beloved figures like Goofy, showcasing their versatility as a cosplayer. Their dedication to capturing the spirit of each character they portray is commendable, and they continue to inspire fellow cosplayers and fans alike.
Kida
Underwater city enthusiast and cosplayer @kitpupzz managed to bring the exotic queen of Atlantis, Kida, to life in a truly remarkable manner. This cosplay is nothing short of extraordinary! Every intricate detail has been meticulously recreated, from the mesmerizing blue cheek markings to the ornate pendant necklace and even the oddly-shaped bags.
@kitpupzz's dedication to accuracy and passion for Atlantis shines through, leaving anyone who sees the cosplay in awe. If you find yourself daydreaming about embarking on a daring dive to discover the fabled Lost City of Atlantis, then why not begin this adventure by drawing inspiration from the sheer brilliance of this exceptional Kida portrayal?
Rogue
Rogue was originally portrayed in the X-Men movies by the beautiful and talented Anna Paquin. When a mutant's main power is that she can absorb powers from others with just one touch, then they are definitely worth cosplaying. No matter how well she may have done the role, there’s no doubt that @lizkatzofficial is a serious competitor in terms of the character’s looks.
We don’t even care that she took the picture in her kitchen! Our cosplayer, Liz Katz is ready for any coming up modeling gigs and even claims to be a highly talented video gamer. Based on how well she did justice to this cosplay, we tend to believe her.
Mystique
It’s no surprise Mystique from the "X Men" franchise is a popular choice for creative cosplayers. After all, this mutant from the beloved Marvel comic strip is the master of shapeshifting. So she is the ideal character for cosplayers to emulate, as they are the real-life shapeshifters of our lives.
Her electric blue skin, yellow eyes, and radiant red hair are sure to turn heads at any comic-con event. We love this cosplayer's unique take on the mysterious mutant! It seems that she was inspired by Mystique's shape-shifting ability as she tweaked the hairstyle and make-up slightly! All we can say is that this "X-Men" cosplay is X-ceptional!
Tinkerbell
It is near-on impossible to not see this cosplayer's Tinkerbell transformation as anything other than magical. From the blonde bun, leafy dress, and holographic wings, self-proclaimed Princess Mercedes has done the fairy fans proud! Of course, Tinkerbell is the majestic little fairy from the story of Peter Pan.
And it takes a special kind of cosplayer to bring this incredible character to life. With an Instagram handle like "@mercedesdisneydiary," it is clear that this cosplayer has a talent and taste for all things Disney dress-up. Check out her page to see all your princess favorites, from Sleeping Beauty to Ariel!
Supergirl
Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl, is just as powerful as her older cousin, Superman. The family is probably the inspiration behind many of the more modern superhero families such as The Incredibles. Kara also has the added benefit of being able to absorb solar flares! This cosplayer truly manages to capture the look and feel of the woman of steel.
You’d practically expect lasers to burst out of her eyes at any moment. She's even sporting Supergirl's iconic red leather thigh-high boots. Color us SUPER impressed. Of course, Sasha Calle recently played the role of Supergirl in the movie "The Flash." She must be impressed with cosplayers like this one!
Green Lantern
Green Lantern never quite managed to translate itself into films very well, probably because it lacked the female beauty of Green Lantern-ess Jessica Cruz! But as a comic book hero, it is everything a reader is looking for. Meet Felicia LeeAnn, a self-described "artsy-fartsy" creative who has fallen in love with the "art of transformation."
You can find her on Instagram or on her personal blog "Everything Fe." Her costume and makeup were entirely done by her, and the attention to detail certainly gets the green light from us! Sorry, we meant to say that she gets the "green lantern" from us. OK, no we're confused.
