Deidre Hall
The beloved Deidre Hall became a part of "Days of Our Lives" in 1976 when she took on the role of psychiatrist Dr. Marlena Evans. Dr. Evans has been the town psychiatrist of Salem, and she has gone through every possible situation – being kidnapped several times, being used as a surrogate for genetically engineered babies, and even being possessed by the devil.
Her character was a big fan favorite. Hall went on to act in several other TV shows and sitcoms and has had a stellar acting career that is still active today. She’s written books and won numerous TV and Soap awards.
Drake Hogestyn
First introduced as a mystery man called “The Pawn”, Drake Hogestyn made his debut on DOOL in 1986. Later, he became known as Roman Brady, a character that was originally played by Wayne Northrop. Brady’s character married Marlena Evans and they became the show’s super couple.
Hogestyn won the title of Hottest Male in the Soap Opera Digest Awards in 1994 and 1995. When Northrop returned to the series in 1991, Hogestyn took on the role of John Black. Apart from starring on DOOL for 40-plus years, Hogestyn has been in a number of B-list movies and other sitcoms throughout the years.

Mary Beth Evans
Mary Beth Evans played the beautiful Doctor Kayla Brady on DOOL since she joined the cast in 1986. She continued until 1992, came back from 2002 to 2009, and then from 2010 to today. That adds up to almost a lifetime!
Kayla Brady and Steve “Patch” Johnson were another favorite couple from the show, especially after their big onscreen wedding. Apart from reprising her "Days of Our Lives" role, Evans has acted in TV movies and shows throughout the years, most famously in "As the World Turns" and "The Bay". When she goes on TV you know it's for the long run.
Peter Reckell
Peter Reckell played the handsome Bo Brady on DOOL since 1983, and he became a fan favorite after pairing up with Hope, Kristian Alfonso’s character. With his impressive locks, winning smile, and superhero jaw, Reckell won the Soap Opera Digest Awards in 1984, 1985, 1986, and 1996.
He continued working on the show until 2016 but already had an impressive career by acting on other popular shows such as "Baywatch", "Knots Landing", "As the World Turns," and "Venice: The Series." Most recently, he made a very anticipated reprise of his "Days of Our Lives" roles in the 2022 spinoff series.
Patrika Darbo
Florida-born Patrika Darbo joined "Days of Our Lives" in 1998 to play the role of Nancy Wesley. Audiences loved her right away, earning her an “Outstanding Female Newcomer” Soap Opera Digest Award in 1999, and a nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2000. Darbo left DOOL in 2005 and then came back for a year in 2013.
She then returned from 2016 to 2017, and from 2019 to 2020. Darbo was also famous for starring in "The Bold and the Beautiful." Throughout the years, Darbo has had a guest role in "General Hospital," "Growing Pains", "Grace Under Fire," and "Seinfeld."
Suzanne Rogers
Playing the family matriarch of the Hortons, Maggie Horton was one of the most revered characters in "Days of Our Lives." Horton was played by famous actress Suzanne Rogers, who joined the show in 1973 and kept the role for another 40-plus years. Rogers is the 10th longest-serving soap star in the world, winning several Daytime Drama Series awards.
Despite suffering from serious medical conditions throughout the years, Rogers powered through. She did not give up, kept performing, and appeared in several other TV shows, including titles like "Little House on the Prairie," "Knight Rider," "Quincy, M.E.", and "Love, American Style."
Josh Taylor
Josh Taylor wanted to be a lawyer, but as we all know, life took him in a whole different direction. After working as a bartender in Los Angeles for a while and trying his hand at acting, he became enamored. Taylor joined "Days of Our Lives" in 1977, ironically, to play a bartender named Chris Kositchek.
Taylor had acted in "Barnaby Jones," "The Hardy Boys" and "The Six Million Dollar Man." Although he originally played Kositchek until 1987, Taylor rejoined the cast after a 10-year hiatus, in 1997, to play the character of Roman Brady. He plays Brady to this day.
Bill Hayes
One of the few original cast members left is Bill Hayes. He joined the cast in 1970 to play Doug Williams, a lounge singer. This fit perfectly since Hayes was actually a musician. He was a part of the most romantic couple on the show, and he and Susan Seaforth Hayes, who played Julie Olsen Williams even became a couple off the screen as well.
In fact, they are still together to this day. Bill Hayes was nominated for two Daytime Emmys in 1975 and 1976, and he also acted in other popular shows, like "Frasier," "Hooperman," "Cop Rock," and "The Interns."
Susan Seaforth Hayes
Susan Seaforth Hayes, who played Julie Olsen Williams is the only actor in the show that has appeared for its entire run of nearly six decades. Hayes joined the cast in 1968 and was immediately adored by fans. She’s been nominated for four Daytime Emmys, two Drama Series Awards, won two Soapy Awards in 1977, and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
Hayes had been on several TV shows before DOOL and went on to have a great acting career. But most notably, she found true love in the show, since her onscreen husband, Bill Hayes, became her lifelong partner offscreen as well!
Matthew Ashford
Although he was most famous for playing the role of Jack Deveraux on "Days of Our Lives", actor Matthew Ashford was in some of TV’s most popular shows. These include high-profile titles such as "The Bay", "NCIS", "General Hospital", and "Charmed."
His character in "Days of Our Lives", Deveraux, started out as a villain but he was able to be redeemed. and then reformed and got together with Jennifer Horton. Ashford's career in the soap has earned him nominations for several Daytime Emmy and Daytime Drama Series awards. Most recently, he reprised his role in the "Days of Our Lives" spinoff series.
Lisa Trusel
Actress Lisa Trusel played the youngest daughter of the Horton family, Melissa Horton. Trusel joined the cast at an extremely young age, in 1982, when she was only 14 years old, and stayed until 1988. During that time, she met co-star David Wallace, whom she married when she turned 18, in 1986.
So it's pretty safe to say that her life was completely made thanks to the show. Trusel reprised her role of Melissa in 1994, 1996, 2002, and 2010. The couple has been together since, and now have four children and three grandchildren. It seems many stars of DOOL found their significant other on the show.
Thaao Penghlis
Australian actor Thaao Penghlis joined in the early 80s, shortly after his role in "General Hospital," in 1981. Penghlis played the role of Tiny DiMera, son of villain Stefano DiMera, which he had for the next few years, on and off. The actor also starred in the TV version of 1980’s "Mission: Impossible," "Kojak," and others.
Penghis received a Soap Opera Award in 2003 for Favorite Return. The last time he appeared on the show was in 2009, and then he went on to pursue a career in theater, act in the film "The Book of Esther," and write two books.
Stephen Nichols
The famous role of Steve “Patch” Johnson was played by actor Stephen Nichols, who joined "Days of Our Lives" in 1985. His nickname came, as we all know, from the eye patch he always wore, which he got after a fight with Bo Brady.
Nichols stayed on the show until 1990, winning five Soap Opera Digest awards and a nomination for an Emmy. Nichols went on and off the show many times, the last time being in 2015. He also starred in "Port Charles", "General Hospital" and "The Young and the Restless", and had countless guest roles in numerous TV shows.
Arianne Zucker
The beautiful Arianne Zucker started her career as a model when she was 16 years old. In 1998, at age 24, she debuted on "Days of Our Lives," playing the role of Nicole Walker, a young woman with a difficult family. Zucker won a Soap Opera Digest award and was nominated for four Daytime Emmys during her time on DOOL.
In 2018, she decided her time on the show was over, and went on to act in several TV movies, most recently reprising her role of Nicole in the 2021 Christmas film, "Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas."
Alison Sweeney
Another fan favorite of "Days of Our Lives" due to her drama-filled life was Samantha “Sami” Brady. Sami was played by actress Alison Sweeney, who joined the cast in 1993. While on the show, Sweeney won a staggering five Soap Opera Digest awards and a Daytime Emmy. The actress played Sami for 21 years until she finally left the show in 2014.
Sweeney has continued her acting career, starring in several Hallmark movies, such as “Chronicle Mysteries”, “Murder, She Baked”, and dozens of others. Sweeney has said she loves making her own movie projects, which she gets to do on Hallmark.
John Aniston
Legendary actor John Aniston started acting in the early 50s, and in 1985, he added another huge role to his list – he became Victor Kiriakis in "Days of Our Lives." Aniston made his character become an audience favorite, making Victor into a charming ladies’ man who loved to stir drama in Salem.
The father of famous actress Jennifer Aniston has gone on to appear in several high-profile films and series since his time on DOOL. Some of these include "Star Trek: Voyager", "Journeyman," "Gilmore Girls," and "Mission: Impossible." Aniston received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022 and passed away later that year.
Bryan Dattilo
"Days of Our Lives" welcomed a new cast member in 1993 — actor Bryan Dattilo. He played the role of heartthrob Lucas Roberts, the love interest of Sami Brady. Dattilo continued on the show until 2001, took a break for a year, and then came back for a few more years from 2002 to 2010.
Since then, Dattilo has acted in "CSI: NY", "California Dreams," "In the Heat of the Night," and several other TV shows. In February of 2022, the actor debuted his podcast, which focuses on paranormal activities. He was seemingly inspired by his own alien abduction in 1993.
Joseph Mascolo
The infamous crime boss of "Days of Our Lives", Stephano DiMera was a very popular character on the show. DiMera was played by Joseph Mascolo, who has a surprising background in doing another kind of performance art — he was actually a musician specializing in opera and classical music. Not exactly the kind of opera he had in mind at first, eh?
He joined DOOL in 1982, won three Soap Opera Digest awards, and stayed on for 34 years, before passing away in 2016. Apart from DOOL, Mascolo appeared in other popular TV shows like "Santa Barbara" and "General Hospital."
Kyle Lowder
The handsome Missouri native Kyle Lowder joined the cast in 2000, where he played the role of Brady Black. Black starts the show as a spoiled college student that everyone dislikes, but just like in real life, the years go by and he starts to change. Throughout the show, he reforms and becomes a loving man.
Lowder played the role until 2005 and then went on to star in another famous soap opera — "The Bold and the Beautiful," as Rex Brady. He returned to DOOL in 2018 to reprise his role as Brady, and he even released a music album.
Jen Lilley
Actress Jen Lilley started acting in 2007, but it wasn’t until her role in the box-office hit film, "The Artist," in 2011, that her career properly took off. In 2013, Lilley joined the "Days of Our Lives" cast to play the role of Theresa Donovan. She is no stranger to soaps and had previously acted in "General Hospital", as Maxie Jones.
Lilley brought life to the DOOL character and stayed on the show until 2016. She returned for a short time in 2018 to reprise the role but left after three months. Since then, Lilley has starred in several Hallmark TV movies.
Eric Martsolf
The handsome model, singer, broadcaster, dancer, and actor Eric Martsolf joined the cast of DOOL in 2008. His many talents helped him to take over the role of Brady Black after Kyle Lowder left the show. Martsolf had starred in the famous soap opera "Passions" for six years until the show was taken off the air.
The actor's most well-recognized part is in DOOL. Apart from other small roles in TV shows like "Rizzoli & Isles," Martsolf continues to play Brady Black in "Days of Our Lives" to this day. He won a Daytime Emmy for his portrayal of Black in 2014.
Eileen Davidson
Former model Eileen Davidson had her acting debut in the soap opera world and she hasn't left it since. In 1982, she was cast in "The Young and the Restless," as Ashley Abbott. Then she went on to star in "The Bold and the Beautiful," until being cast in "Days of Our Lives" in 1993.
Davidson played two characters in DOOL, that of Kristen Blake and that of her doppelganger, Susan Banks. Davidson continued on DOOL until 2021, during which time she also wrote various mystery novels and appeared in the famous reality TV show, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
Patrick Muldoon
Actor, producer, and musician Patrick Muldoon started his acting career as a supporting character in "Saved by the Bell." Then, in 1992, he joined the cast of "Days of Our Lives" to take in the role of Austin Reed, an aspiring boxer.
Muldoon stayed on the show until 1995 and then came back from 2011 to 2012. Apart from his role on DOOL, Muldoon starred in several TV shows and movies since the early 90s. Like many other soap opera stars (his own cast mates included), a lot of his non-soap work has been for channels like Lifetime and Hallmark.
Lisa Rinna
Years before she became one of the most prominent wives in the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," Lisa Rinna first appeared on screen in a music video by John Parr. That was the start of her on-screen career. Shortly after, in 1992, she was cast as the gorgeous Billie Reed on "Days of Our Lives," a role she kept until 1995.
Rinna was then cast in the famous show "Melrose Place" until 1998. She returned to "Days of Our Lives" in 2002, 2012, and 2018, while simultaneously starring in several Hallmark and Lifetime movies. Other shows she’s acted in include "Veronica Mars," and "CSI."
Peggy McCay
Before she played the strong, opinionated matriarch of the Brady family, Caroline Brady, actress Peggy McCay was a theater performer. In 1983, she was cast as Caroline and she played the famous role until 2016, during which time she won and was nominated for several awards.
Apart from her role in "Days of Our Lives," McCay acted in many television films throughout the years, such as "Silk Hope" and "No Man’s Land." She passed away in 2018, at the ripe age of 90, leaving behind a fabulous career and a respectable legacy, though sadly, she never married or had a family of her own.
Jason Cook
"Days of Our Lives" fan favorite Shawn-Douglas Brady was the son of power couple Bo and Hope Brady, and audiences loved the character instantly. The role was played by Jason Cook, who joined the cast in 1999. Cook stayed on the show until 2006 and was then cast in "General Hospital" two years later.
It looks like the world of soap operas is a tough one to leave. Through his acting career, Cook discovered many things about himself. Mainly, he realized that he wanted to be at the other end of the entertainment industry, so he became a film producer.
Lauren Koslow
This actress has been on our screens for a long time, participating in numerous productions. Before she starred in "The Young and the Restless", "The Bold and the Beautiful", "The Nanny," and ultimately joined "Days of Our Lives" in 1996, Lauren Koslow was pursuing a different kind of acting as a theater actress.
Koslow took on the role of Kate Roberts, which she plays until today. Koslow is highly appreciated and even won a Soap Opera Digest award for her role as Roberts. She has simultaneously acted in a number of TV movies, including "Lethal Beauty" and "Hard to Hold."
James Scott
British actor James Scott started out as a musician, then began modeling (no surprise there), which helped him pay for his studies, and finally moved to California to pursue acting. Scott started his soapy career when he was cast as Ethan Cambias in the famous show "All My Children", in 2004.
Two years later, he landed the role of EJ DiMera in "Days of our Lives." Scott played EJ, the son of famous crime boss Stefano DiMera until 2014. Shortly after, he left his acting career (and show business) behind to pursue something entirely different and became a life coach.
Darin Brooks
Actor Darin Brooks knew he wanted to be an actor from a very young age. In fact, since he was in high school! It was after he got a chance to be a part of his school’s theater productions, and that's what he did.
He moved to Los Angeles once he graduated and was cast in "Days of Our Lives" in 2015, as Max Brady. Brooks won an Emmy award for his role on DOOL. After leaving the show in 2010, Brooks went on to act in "The Bold and the Beautiful", "Blue Mountain State", "CSI: Miami"," 2 Broke Girls", and many others.
Brody Hutzler
Alaskan native Brody Hutzler made a move to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career, which began on shows like "The Young and the Restless" and "Guiding Light." He was cast as Patrick Lockhart in "Days of Our Lives" in 2004 and stayed on the show for three years.
Hutzler went on to appear in several famous TV shows of the time, including "Charmed", "Angel", "7th Heaven", "Ally McBeal," "Titans," and others. It seems that the actor has passions other than acting as nowadays, Hutzler also works part-time as a real estate agent. Perhaps he is the one to find you your next home!
Freddie Smith
Freddie Smith made history in "Days of Our Lives" when he took on the role of Sonny Kiriakis, the first openly gay contract role on the series. Smith also ended up winning several awards for his role, which he completely deserved.
He stayed on the show from 2011 until 2020 and started his own awards show, called "The Freddie & Alyssa Show" in 2018. Smith has not always been a soap actor. In fact, he started out by acting in commercials, and appearing in "90210" for a few episodes. However, the place where he made a name for himself was "Days of Our Lives".
Camila Banus
Camila Banus was cast as the sweet and innocent Gabi Hernandez on "Days of Our Lives" in 2010 and quickly became a beloved character. Banus kept the role for four years and then continued to act in TV shows like "Star" and "Mistresses".
Not limited to the small screen, she also appeared in films, including "Speak Now", "A Bride’s Nightmare", "Almost Amazing" and others. This Florida native has certainly done well for herself, as she’s been acting constantly for the past decade. Banus even reprised her role for the "Days of Our Lives" spinoff miniseries that came out in 2022.
Shawn Christian
Shawn Christian started his acting career away from the soap opera world, doing TV commercials in Chicago. That is where he was cast in the hit series "As the World Turns," but that was only the beginning of something much bigger.
Shortly after, Christian moved to Los Angeles and appeared in minor roles on TV shows until finally landing the role that made him famous, playing Dr. Daniel Jonas on "Days of Our Lives." Christian starred in "Days of Our Lives" from 2008 until 2017, a run that led him to be cast in various big-screen films and several TV shows.
Tara Reid
Here is one actress who needs no introduction to people from within the soap community or outside of it. Everybody knows who Tara Reid is nowadays after her roles in big box-office hits like the "American Pie" film series, The "Big Lebowski", "National Lampoon’s Van Wilder" and others.
But before she was a star, Reid began by acting in "Saved By the Bell: The New Class" and "Days of Our Lives." She was cast as Ashley on DOOL in 1995, and although she only acted in 13 episodes, fans remember her character well. Reid has made guest appearances in dozens of other popular TV shows since then.
Nadia Bjorlin
Model, singer, and actress Nadia Bjorlin was born in Rhode Island, but has Swedish roots. She was cast in "Days of Our Lives" in 1999 as Chloe Lane. Bjorlin left "Days of Our Lives" in 2003 to focus on her singing career but returned after a few months.
She left the show again in 2005 and went on to appear in other TV shows. In 2007, she acted in "If I Had Known I Was a Genius" and "Redline." Bjorlin has gone on to make guest appearances on shows like "Two and a Half Men", "NCIS", "Venice: The Series", and others.
Galen Gering
Galen Gering became known for playing Rafe Hernandez in "Days of Our Lives" from 2008 to this day. Rafe is an FBI agent hired to protect Sami Brady while she is in the witness protection program. Not limited to soap operas, Gering has also appeared in numerous commercials (more than 50!), and starred in the NBC show "Passions."
Gering also banked further on his soap opera career and branched into reality TV. He starred on his own reality TV show, "Dirty Soap" along with his wife and kids in 2011. The show aired on E! and lasted for one season.
Billy Flynn
Just look at that hair and that leather jacket. You just can't cast someone like that on a soap opera for a part that is not the villain. And he really was cast as one of the DiMera family members, who are never up to anything good.
Billy Flynn started his acting career in TV commercials, and slowly moved on to short films until finally getting cast in a guest role on the CBS show "Hawaii Five-0." Shortly after, in 2014, Flynn got cast as Chad DiMera on "Days of Our Lives." He is reprising his role in the spinoff miniseries. Flynn also landed a role in the thriller film "D.O.A. Blood River" in 2016.
Linsey Godfrey
Linsey Godfrey made her acting debut in the year 2012 when she got cast as Caroline Spencer in a soap opera other than the one we are here to discuss — "The Bold and the Beautiful." She stayed on the show until 2016, and two years later, Godfrey joined the "Days of Our Lives cast" as Sarah Horton, a role that she played until 2021.
Unfortunately, Godfrey has struggled with serious personal and health issues, but she never stopped acting. She also appeared in "Surface", "One Tree Hill", "NCIS", "Cold Case", "CSI: Miami", and others. She’s been nominated for four Daytime Emmy awards.
Stacy Haiduk
Fabulous actress Stacy Haiduk made her acting debut in the 1988 TV show "Superboy" and was then cast in a number of other successful TV shows, many of which involve fantasy or sci-fi elements, including "Charmed", "The X-Files", "Prison Break", and "Heroes."
It wasn’t until 2018 that she joined "Days of Our Lives" to play Kristen DiMera and her doppelganger Susan Banks. Curiously, Haiduk had appeared in "Days of Our Lives" back in 2010 doing a small part as a prison warden but lasted for a few short episodes. Haiduk has also starred in many TV thrillers and horror movies.
Martha Madison
After appearing in the 2001 film "Kate & Leopold", Martha Madison landed a role in the hit TV show "Passions." Soon after, she was cast as Belle Black in the soap opera "Days of Our Lives" and continued to work her magic on the show for three years. During that time, she also appeared on "The Tyra Banks Show."
She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for her role on "Days of Our Lives." While the show is the most prominent line on her resume, Madison also guest appeared in other productions, like "Without a Trace", "Criminal Minds", "The Bay", and "General Hospital."
Paul Telfer
Scottish actor Paul Telfer first appeared on TV in the miniseries "Hercules", back in 2005 (obviously, he has Greek god written all over him). Then, he acted in a few episodes of the BBC drama "Hotel Babylon", "NCIS", and "The Vampire Diaries".
After these roles and a few stints in film, Telfer was cast as Damon, a hitman hired by Victor Kiriakis, on "Days of Our Lives," in 2015. Shortly after, he was given a more permanent role, that of Xander Kiriakis. Telfer keeps his role to this day and has also made a guest appearance in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
Robert Scott Wilson
American model and actor Robert Scott Wilson made a name for himself by being the first male model on "The Price Is Right." He then joined the cast of "All My Children" in 2013, all the while landing guest roles in TV shows "Greek", and "Melissa and Joey."
He also appeared in films such as "Bride Wars", "The Social Network" and "Friends With Benefits." It wasn’t until 2014 that Wilson was cast to play Ben Weston in "Days of Our Lives," and he held the role until 2016. Then, in 2022, Wilson came back on the show to play Alexander Kiriakis.
Brandon Barash
Brandon Barash has been running in the soap opera circuit for a while now, and not just as a regular cast member in "Days of Our Lives." Although most famous for playing Johnny Zacchara on "General Hospital", Brandon Barash also made a name for himself when getting cast in "Days of Our Lives" in 2019.
Barash played Stefan DiMera from the year 2019 to the year 2020 and then played another character, Jake DiMera, from 2020 until 2022. But Barash kept busy these last two decades, appearing in "Gilmore Girls", "The West Wing", "NCIS", "Bones", and dozens of other hit shows.
George DelHoyo
Starting out as a theater actor, George DelHoyo has been acting since 1975. After a while of hitting the stage in front of live audiences, he then transitioned to TV and landed roles in productions such as "The Eddie Capra Mysteries" and "Star of the Family."
In 1986, DelHoyo was cast as none other than the villain Orpheus, on "Days of Our Lives". DelHoyo played this role for a year, and then reprised it in 2016, and later from 2020 until the present. DelHoyo has had a prolific TV career, appearing in shows like "Cheers", "Frasier", "The Love Boat" and others.
Judi Evans
Judi Evans made her acting debut in 1983, on a different soap opera — the series "Guiding Light." Three years later, in 1986, she was cast as Adrienne Kiriakis in "Days of Our Lives." Evans left "Days of Our Lives" in the year 1991 and joined the cast of yet another soap opera — "Another World."
Then, in 2003, she came back to "Days of Our Lives," to play Bonnie Lockhart until 2008. Evans went on to appear on "As the World Turns" and "The Mentalist," and in 2010, she rejoined "Days of Our Lives" yet again until the present day.
Tina Huang
Tina Huang is a stage and TV actress who is most famous for playing the role of Melinda Trask in "Days of Our Lives," and the role of Susie Chang in "Rizzoli & Isles." Huang was first cast in "Days of Our Lives" back in 2008 to play Josie Jordan, a role she kept for a year.

Leann Hunley
Leann Hunley started her TV career by appearing in the hit TV show "Hawaii Five-0," and then in another hit you have probably heard of — "Battlestar Galactica." Hunley was then cast as Anna DiMera on "Days of Our Lives" in 1982, a role she held for a few years until 1986.
She went on to act in several TV movies and shows until rejoining DOOL in 2007 and staying till 2010. Finally, Hunley reprised her role from 2017 to the present day. Hunley was also known for being a regular on the hit show "Dynasty" from 1986 to 1988.
Wally Kurth
American actor Wally Kurth has been acting since 1987 when he joined the cast of "Days of Our Lives" as Justin Kiriakis. Kurth played the role until the year 1991, when he got a better part on a different soap opera and became a regular on "General Hospital."
He stayed on the show until 2007, during which time he went on to guest appear in other shows and TV movies. Kurth reprised his role in "Days of Our Lives" in 2009 and in "General Hospital" in 2012, both of which he keeps to this day, arguably as the king of the soap opera world.
