David Beckham has gone from a long-haired grunt with crooked teeth and a big smile to a short-haired, tattooed celeb whose big smile now has a perfect set. A fine wine grows better with age, they say, and this is a pretty good example. One of the first things that Beckham got done to make him a mainstream star and not just a legendary footballer was work on his teeth.
His boyish grin contained crooked, uneven teeth. The standard set of whitening and veneers helped get everything into order, so now he’s not only physically gifted, but he’s gifted in the looks department as well.
Cher
She's the queen of going under the knife to maintain her perfect appearance, so it should come as no surprise that this famous singer has gotten her dental work shifted into a pristine place. She's gone onto Twitter to brag about her smile, which means she's obviously thanking the dentists and oral surgeons who did the work, right?
She's tried it all, and she recommends veneers over caps to her followers. Back when she became famous – all the way back in the seventies – she had four front teeth that looked like the busted keys of a broken piano, but thanks to all the work she's had done, they're now out-of-the-box perfect.
Emma Watson
How bad were Watson's teeth? While she was filming some of the “Harry Potter” movies, she had to wear fake teeth. That bad. Her teeth were chipped and uneven and an unattractive yellow color. Far from the perfect teeth we're used to on the screen. Today, however, her teeth and smile are both perfect. After years of work with braces, whiteners, and over options, she got the star-quality smile that is always a help to a person's movie career.
Across the pond, dental health means something a little different – while in the United States, it's seen as best to have straight, white teeth, in the United Kingdom, it isn't. It's why the British cliché of nasty teeth first appeared.
Tom Cruise
The right dental work can change a person's face from a brutish thug to a mega-star, and there's no better example than that of Tom Cruise. In one of Cruise's first roles, he played Steve Randle, a tough greaser in Francis Ford Coppola's “The Outsiders.” The movie came out in 1983, and after filming was done, Cruise let the dentists get to work.
His smile looks much better now, but it isn't flawless – if you look at enough pictures of Cruise (and we have, trust us), you'll notice that one of his incisors is right in the center of his face.
Kate Beckinsale
There are plenty of celebs that have gotten work done on their chompers despite their teeth being, while not perfect, perfectly fine. Beckinsale is one of those people. Her teeth were a bit long and uneven, but a little bit of work (which she openly admits to) whitened, straightened, and corrected all of those small issues to give her a bright, winning smile.
Some custom-made porcelain veneers help keep her smile in tip-top shape. Such high-quality work is neither cheap nor pain-free, but it can help a person go from a middling star to a big name with a big, recognizable grin.
David Beckham
David Beckham has gone from a long-haired grunt with crooked teeth and a big smile to a short-haired, tattooed celeb whose big smile now has a perfect set. A fine wine grows better with age, they say, and this is a pretty good example. One of the first things that Beckham got done to make him a mainstream star and not just a legendary footballer was work on his teeth.
His boyish grin contained crooked, uneven teeth. The standard set of whitening and veneers helped get everything into order, so now he's not only physically gifted, but he's gifted in the looks department as well.
LeAnn Rimes
Few have had a longer road to dental perfection than LeAnn Rimes. This singer, songwriter, actress, and author has had lots of work done to get her Hollywood teeth, starting in the nineties with cosmetic work. It went well, but she ended up suing her dentist. From 2009 to 2012, she got a number of veneers, crowns, and other work, but she later claimed that all the work caused her severe pain and chronic dental troubles – things that made it impossible for her to sing.
She's now had a staggering thirty dental surgeries, and while her smile looks wonderful now, we wonder if Rimes was tempted to just throw the whole deal away and just go with her natural teeth.
Zac Efron
A gap-toothed grin is adorable when a young lad is still in the growing stages, but once that young lad wants to be a big grown-up movie star, the look loses its popularity. Zac Efron had this issue, which is why he had to have so much work done to his smile as he grew older. With braces, bleaching, and blonding, the once-Disney star now has a perfect set of teeth.
Unlike many of the stars on this list, he didn't get veneers (unless there's something he's not telling us), which means his smile is a little more natural. His grin is still a little lopsided thanks to his lips and muscles, but that can't really be changed. Plus, it's kinda cool.
Demi Moore
A lot of the celebs on this list have common problems like crooked teeth or stained enamel. Moore, however, had those and more – her front teeth fell out due to stress. It forced her to not only get dental work done but also needed to change up her life. Even the teeth that didn't fall out were uneven and yellow.
After plenty of work, she now has two perfect rows of shiny teeth, and she's made changes to her life to keep them in better shape. We hope she's flossing. A lot of people think that she looks better now than she did when she was younger, and her smile is a big reason why.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Ronaldo had humble beginnings. Born in Portugal, this lad had no idea he was going to grow up to be the first billionaire soccer player in the world. His teeth certainly didn't since they decided to stick out at odd angles like a pile of clay bricks. Success in the world of soccer allowed him to invest in his appearance and get the work done to make his teeth a little easier to look at.
His teeth went from crooked – practically jagged – and yellow to perfectly straight and perfectly white. According to the man himself, it took a lot of expensive and painful work: extractions, braces, wiring, whitening, and veneers.
Gwen Stefani
Most of us consider braces to be a childhood thing, but there are plenty of people who have to suffer through them during adulthood, too. Gwen Stefani is one such celebrity who wanted to make sure her teeth were aligned even though she could drink or drive. Not at the same time, of course.
Throw in some veneers and whitening, and her smile was ready to be famous. Pale skin, bright red lipstick, and a set of chompers that are practically glowing helped make it easy for people to recognize this star anywhere.
Taylor Swift
Looking at the “before” picture, you might wonder why Swift thought she needed work done – her smile looked lovely framed by the curls of her early career. She didn't intend to get work done.
During a live performance in 2013, she was a bit careless with her microphone, chipping one of her own front teeth. She had urgent dental care done to add a cap, and she also took the opportunity for a touch of straightening and whitening, which has now given her an even more perfect smile.
Hilary Duff
It turns out that more than a few singers and performing artists have had the bad fortune of needing work done thanks to their mics. It's even considered a “common workplace injury.” It's happened to Hilary Duff multiple times until she invested in toughening up her teeth.
She first got veneers that were too big – which lead to a certain rabbit look that you might recognize on some celebrity – but her second try at getting those whites pearly did the trick. Her teeth are shiny, an appropriate size, and fitting to extend her beauty.
Celine Dion
Whether it's age before beauty or the other way around, Celine Dion gets to go first. She changes up her look with the switching decades, but she's also at the height of style. She didn't have terrible teeth, to begin with, but they certainly weren't at the superstar level they are now. Her mouth was a bit crowded, and like all-natural teeth, they had some discoloration.
Thanks to a full set of porcelain veneers, she looks the part of the perfect stage presence as she's belting out her hits. Her entire look is a superstar now, and she's only getting better every year.
Miley Cyrus
She had a big smile that went perfectly with her big personality, but despite how unique the look was, nobody was denying that her teeth were a bit of a mix-up. Before Miley Cyrus grew up and crawled out from under the Disney look, the “Hannah Montana” star kept her crooked teeth hidden.
As she moved on to bigger things, she got work down to make her into a marketable star for everyone. She got braces, whitening, and veneers to go along with her short, dyed haircut. She went from a charming young star to a full-grown glamorous woman.
Melanie C
She was once Sporty Spice of the legendary girl group "Spice Girls," but she's come a long way from her tomboy days when she was constantly in front of the camera. The British teeth are back, and while the crooked, uneven, gap-toothed look fit Sporty when she was singing with her friends, Mel decided to get them fixed once the group fizzled.
She wanted a more mature image for the next part of her career. Thanks to the traditional group of braces, whitening, and veneers, she was able to go from tomboy to beautiful woman without trouble. Her look is now undeniably gorgeous.
Matthew Lewis
The name might not ring a bell, but actor Matthew Lewis played the chubby, hapless friend to the main three in the “Harry Potter” movies, and he's the proud owner of one of the greatest transformations we've seen in recent years. From an awkward kid with crooked teeth to a dreamboat with pearly whites and piercing, light eyes, you'd never know he was the one Hermione Granger froze solid in the first movie.
He has the true A-list look thanks to sparkling veneers and all the other work he's had done. He's ready for his starring roles with a grin like that one. We already know his acting skills are top-notch.
Nicole Kidman
We've already seen lots of celebs that have a mess of a mouth and really needed the work done. There are also some who had perfectly reasonable teeth – just not perfect. Actress Nicole Kidman's teeth had an inward slant to them, which can lead to jaw or gum issues, but we're not going to say they looked bad with teeth like Cher's on the list.
Kidman still got a set of veneers as well as plenty of straightening done to enhance her looks and help make her into one of the classic leading ladies of our era.
Niall Horan
Like thousands of other hopefuls, Niall Horan was once just a regular kid auditioning for “The X Factor.” He didn't win, but he and a couple of other losers got picked up by a talent agent and forged into "One Direction," who went on to become perhaps the most successful boy band since the Backstreet Boys. To help him get the pop star pretty-boy look, he got Invisalign braces to fix his crooked teeth.
It was less work than a lot of people get, and he even kept fans appraised on how his teeth were changing. With the help of some veneers, Niall now has a winning smile that has lasted long past the end of One Direction.
Lindsay Lohan
We all know that Lohan was one of the legendary party girls of the new millennium. It turns out that taking certain substances and partying all night long can take a heavy toll on your teeth. Lindsay's smile had become chipped, yellowed, and was decaying faster than before thanks to her lifestyle and even the coffee she drank to recover from those long nights.
Thankfully, Lohan was able to get her act together. While she made changes to avoid the same mistakes, she got a set of white veneers to help her look freshen up.
Emily Blunt
The pressure to be perfect in Hollywood is a big one, and for some reason, teeth are one of the things that people adjust to the most. Emily Blunt had a perfectly reasonable set of chompers before she got her work done – maybe a weird shape or a crooked tooth here or there, but they looked natural.
She still chose to get veneers after being surrounded by actors and actresses who have the standard pretty teeth set. However, there are some dental experts who think her natural teeth are a better fit for her – her new veneers are thick compared to her narrow, delicate features.
Nicolas Cage
Like some of the other leading guys on this list, Nicolas Cage was a lot more...rugged...before he got some work done. The dentists did what they could, and it seemed to work out in his favor. Before he got better teeth, he played a lot of wild and crazy characters, so having crooked teeth actually worked out in his favor.
Of course, he wanted to make the jump to a big star. He wanted to broaden his roles and splurged on some expensive cosmetic surgery, including braces and veneers. It certainly helped – Nic has never lacked for roles.
Blake Lively
There are few women that have the kind of natural, glowing beauty that Blake Lively possesses. People in and out of Hollywood and around the world are green with envy of her beauty, and according to her, it didn't even take surgery. While some think she might have gotten a nose job, aging sometimes thins out the nose as the round look of childhood disappears.
Even teeth-wise, all that Lively has had to do to get that winning smile we all know and love with some whitening. And who is strong enough among us to resist the call of some whiter teeth?
Victoria Beckham
It's a little more difficult to find pictures of Victoria Beckham, once known as Posh Spice, while she's smiling than you might think. Since the very beginning, she's been known for looking her best, but even she needed a little bit of dental work to make sure her smile looked just like everyone else's. They were unevenly sized.
After the Spice Girls called it quits, she spent something like forty thousand dollars on cosmetic surgery to make sure she had the high-fashion look of a designer. That's quite the sum, but to a name like her, it's not that much – and it looks like the work was worth it.
Catherine Zeta-Jones
There was more than just Hollywood pressure behind Catherine Zeta-Jones's decision to get her teeth fixed up. Since she was young, she had been teased about her crooked teeth, and she eventually became quite self-conscious about them. Even after teenage braces, she still didn't like how they looked.
After the first of her big Hollywood paychecks rolled in, she decided it was time to turn her least-favorite part of herself into something that everyone loved. The results are stunning. Now her pearly whites have helped her climb the ranks in Hollywood into a superstar. She's the one laughing now.
Jim Carrey
We all laughed at him during the nineties. Whether it was in “The Mask,” “Dumb and Dumber,” or “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” we all caught a glimpse of the chipped tooth right at the front of his face. Those were Carrey's real teeth, something he decided to leave for a while since it had kind of become his thing.
It certainly didn't affect how many roles he got or how successful he was, but he eventually decided to smooth his look over with a set of new veneers. It's helped him make the change from goofy comedic character to the stand-out actor in a number of genres.
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi
As a fan favorite of a hit reality TV series, "Jersey Shore," Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi had quite the unique look for her fans to latch on to. With a short, round stature, tall and eye-catching hairdos, and more vigor in her than some pickup trucks, she was never the standard Hollywood character. However, when the show ended, Snooki started to polish her look, personality and change herself for the better.
She got in shape, got some dental work done, and is now not only quite the stunner, but she runs a successful business and Youtube channel and is a happy mom of three. Thing is, her teeth didn't look terrible, just a bit uneven.
Tulisa
She goes as Tulisa and has perfect teeth, but she was born Tula Paulina Contostavlos, and her natural teeth weren't ready for prime time just yet. She's known as a sweet yet stern judge on the British version of “The X Factor,” and everybody can tell she's quite beautiful, but once she got her teeth straightened and whitened, she reached another level.
Like a lot of the other people on this list, her teeth weren't terrible before, but now they're just another big part of her obvious and memorable beauty. She's always ready to beam at the people performing before her or at the concert-goers when she's doing the singing.
Oprah Winfrey
A pair of braces and some whitening can do wonders for someone's self-respect. Famous Oprah might not have needed much help to become a billionaire media mogul, but it certainly didn't hurt. Her teeth were a bit uneven, and her front teeth protruded a bit, but some clear braces and whitening – and maybe some veneers – got everything in order.
Oprah isn't in the spotlight as much anymore these days, but she has a special position within Hollywood and in public, so looking like a star is all part of the star's life. From simple talk show host to the head of a huge empire, she's got the grin to go with it all.
Ben Affleck
From his humble Bostonian background, Ben Affleck rose to fame alongside his buddy Matt Damon. Between the two of them, Matt was known as the better-looking, yet Affleck has proved he can clean up pretty well. Once his start started rising in Hollywood, Affleck decided to invest in some dental work for the full A-list look.
His teeth had some gaps and weren't as straight as he might have liked, but with a little bit of help, they're now clean, straight, and shining. Ever since, his roles have increased, and he's gotten bigger and bigger, including Bruce Wayne and Batman.
Cheryl Cole
With natural beauty and a wonderful singing voice, Cheryl Cole was destined for great things. She's one of England's most beloved singers and has also appeared on the British version of “The X Factor,” but even she had to deal with a mouth full of mismatched teeth. Once her music career got off the ground, like so many other celebs, she went under the knife to remove any and all imperfections.
She got rid of the gaps between her teeth, whitened them up, and set them in an even row. It was all she needed to become one of the top stars of the entire country and get a career that is still going strong.
Keith Urban
Keith Urban is a famous name in the country music scene, but did you know he was actually born in Australia? He's got a winning look now, but before many people could have said, his teeth were holding him back. We've already heard of celebs that have spent thousands to correct their dentistry, all in order to chase the public's affection.
With teeth that are now straight and white, Urban looks like he could be a different person from the gap-toothed goober in the before picture. His new teeth are amazing, and we're pretty sure that he's happy with the result.
Cher Lloyd
At just sixteen years old, Lloyd was one of the auditions on “The X Factor” that lots of people searched out after the fact. She was covered in makeup, wore ripped jeans, and had plenty of attitude, but she still charmed people with her rendition of “Turn My Swag On.” She's now a world-famous singer with three studio albums out to enjoy.
Her teeth, however, weren't ready for the pop star life. Cher had always hated her teeth – they were quite jagged – so when she found herself with enough funds and a good reason to work on her appearance, she signed up for all the traditional tactics for a nice set of teeth.
Morgan Freeman
The Free-Man was one of the few leading guys – really, one of the few people – who didn't have to rely on his looks to get by. Of course, that's not to say he isn't handsome in his unique way. He just has an untraditional look. He's played plenty of wise, serious characters, including even "God."
His teeth were never pretty, but they did end up causing him some trouble just because of the way they grew. Morgan is certainly not strapped for cash, so he splurged on dental treatments to not only remove those issues but to straighten and whiten at the same time.
Madonna
While Madonna has done some work on herself over the years, she did make one exception: she embraced the gap in her teeth. Flaws that are small can help make stars unique, and the pop queen knew that. Madonna's teeth were pretty stained and crooked before she got work done,
But instead of getting veneers to make them look good right away, she went with braces and whitening without getting rid of the look that she had cultivated during her rise to pop superstardom.
Michael Douglas
As is obvious from the two pictures you see here, Michael Douglas has always had pretty good teeth. However, his smile on the right-hand picture looks perfect enough to be in an advert for dental work that you would find in an office.
After enough time, teeth can become chipped and worn-down, so Douglas got a set of porcelain veneers in his old age to maintain the star look. They made him look ten years younger, and they made his smile ten times brighter. He's ready to be a businessman, a caring grandfather, or a scheming bad guy in any movie.
Nicola Roberts
As one of the members of the popular girl group Girls Aloud that rose in the void left by the "Spice Girls," Nicola Roberts rose to fame in the early 2000s. It formed thanks to a televised talent show, and Roberts proved she had the pipes to make it big. She also had flaming red hair and beautiful blue eyes – she was destined for fame.
Only her teeth kept held her back from that glistening all-star status. Once she joined the rest of the Girls Aloud group, she got to benefit from all those industry beauty pros, including whitening and straightening her teeth. Her unique smile is still there, but now it contains perfect teeth.
George Clooney
Few men have been so clearly blessed with good looks as George Clooney. He went from a heartthrob doctor in “ER” to a silver fox leading man in plenty of Hollywood movies. His teeth have always looked good, but good is one thing; great is another. With a total cost of thirty grand, his teeth are now just as brilliant as he is.
Most of the cost comes from a set of pricey porcelain veneers, which ranks as one of the most expensive pieces of dental work that can be done. Clooney has also had gum laser treatment to expose more of his teeth and even up the gumline.
Ronan Keating
Even heartthrobs can have uneven, messy teeth – especially if they come from the United Kingdom. As part of the popular nineties boy band Boyzone, Keating has plenty going for him – good looks, great singing, success – but his teeth were always a bit of a bother.
Like a lot of the other young men and women who found their place in the entertainment business, Keating went through surgery and changes to make himself into a more marketable star, and the focus was on his teeth. After some quality dental work, Ronan now has a winning smile.
50 Cent
Best known as 50 Cent, Curtis James Jackson III has been teased about his teeth all his life – even after he got big when another rapper teased him about them in a song. The corrective work cost more than sixty thousand dollars. His teeth weren't really that bad – a bit oversized for his face, and with a gap between the incisors, but really nothing terrible.
Eventually, he got things fixed up, but he didn't want to get the false veneers that a lot of celebs go for. Instead, he just whitened and straightened the teeth. He also closed the gap, but they're still his teeth.
Steve-O
In the 2000s, we got a bunch of fearless, frankly, stupid guys who pulled pranks and tried stunts that could have easily landed them in the hospital – and often did – or worse. Stephen Gilchrist Glover, known better as Steve-O, was one of the gutsier members of the group. He was a talented stunt man and managed to make it through his time on “Jackass,” spending plenty of time in the hospital.
He also spent plenty of time with certain substances that not only affected his mind and voice but stained and mangled his teeth at the same time. He's doing much better now, and he used some of that MTV money from his shows and movies to get himself a new set of chompers.
Megan Fox
It's impossible to say that Megan Fox has been anything other than gorgeous, so it's a bit of a puzzle when you find out that she had her teeth whitened and straightened. Basically, anybody could get teeth that are whiter and straighter, but even compared to some of the people with better teeth on this list, her set looks fine.
Hollywood demands a certain amount of perfection, of course, so Fox got her set straightened up even more and whitened to a fine, glowing shade. Such bright teeth go well with Megan's darker skin, making her look even better than before.
David Bowie
As a legend in the music scene, Bowie didn't really need to rely on perfectly straight teeth to make sure he was well-loved. While he was blessed with groundbreaking musical talent, he still had some uneven teeth. Even if he didn't need them, it should come as no surprise that someone of his fame decided to get a set of porcelain veneers.
Remember, these are the really expensive ones, but they basically make whitening a non-problem. It's also why only the rich and famous are able to shell out the cash for such a procedure.
Cardi B
The path Cardi B took to fame is an odd one. Born Belcalis Almanzar, she grew up in the Bronx, got her start as an exotic dancer, and rose to real fame thanks to the social media platform Vine. We're not entirely sure how she became so famous, but here we are.
Suddenly this normal girl was ultra-rich and ultra-famous, which meant she had enough money and plenty of good reason to fix up her teeth, which were pretty uneven. She paid something like forty thousand dollars for all the work, and from her big smile, she seems pleased with the result.
Meghan Markle
It seems we're never going to get tired of talking about Markle. She married into the royal family, but she now seems to be on the outs with the queen and experiences ongoing tensions with the royal family.
While her personal and public life is all kinds of up in the air now, her teeth look perfect after getting some braces and whitening done when she started to make it big as an actress. Before the treatments, she had a little bit of a gap in her teeth and a bit uneven, but now she's as pretty as an ex-princess can be.
Millie Bobby Brown
She's one of the best up-and-coming stars in Hollywood these days, getting her start by blowing everyone away in the first season of "Stranger Things" when she was only twelve. Once again, the curse of British dentistry strikes again – yes, she's British.
After her breakout role, she realized that the sky was the limit, but she could always use a little bit of help. We know by now that it can seem difficult to get a big career in Hollywood unless you have perfect teeth, and for a young actress who doesn't want to waste her big chance, it was an easy choice to make to get work done.
Demi Lovato
Demi clearly wanted to get some work done on their teeth to make sure they have all the tools necessary to be big, but there are plenty of people that consider Demi's original smile to be just as good. While their new teeth look nice, they're just more of the same – perfectly straight, perfectly white, and perfectly without character.
Their original smile was a teensy bit uneven but nowhere near like it was something that had to be fixed. However, Demi has been known to struggle in the spotlight when it comes to horrible trolls commenting on weight. This was probably a result of more spotlight pressures.
Emma Roberts
It's hard to have a normal childhood when your aunt is someone as famous as Julia Roberts and her dad, Eric, is almost as famous. Emma was born into the Hollywood elite, and it looks like that's where she's going to stay. Roberts is following in her Aunt's footsteps as a beauty that is charming people on and off the stage.
But her teeth needed a little touch to get them matching some of our Hollywood favorites. Looking at her now, we can definitely see that classic Roberts smile.
James Arthur
In 2012 James Arthur stepped onto the stage on “The X Factor” and blew everyone away. He sang judge Tulisa's song “Young,” and it was just the beginning for this future star. He went on to win the competition and evolved into a big name in the music biz.
Like so many others before and after him, he decided to get his teeth fixed from their quite crooked and uneven state into something much more attractive. However, he didn't go as deep as a lot of other stars, staying away from veneers and whitening and settling just for getting them all in a row.
Matthew Perry
You know him from your repeated viewings of "Friends." Perry was one of six lucky young actors to star in the show that would win a decade of work and be in one of the most famous sitcoms ever. Even considering the fame that Jennifer Aniston has achieved, Perry is considered to be one of the more talented actors on the show.
At the start of the show, you could see that his teeth weren't very even, though they didn't really distract. After a little while – and some time with dental-destroying illicit substances – he decided to clean things up.
Kylie Jenner
It should come as no surprise that the members of the Jenner/Kardashian family have gotten plenty of work done, including on their teeth. Visual perfection was something that the entire extended clan wanted to achieve, which means that some of the many millions of dollars the families have gone toward getting Kylie a perfect set, as well as plenty of other upgrades.
The strange thing here is that Kylie's teeth looked quite wonderful before the work. But, wonderful just wasn't good enough, so it was off to Los Angeles to get the best shiny white veneers that all that money could buy.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers
Being in the right spot at the right time can make or break a Hollywood career, which is what Jonathan Rhys Meyers found out when he was fourteen. He was ditching class with some friends, and a talent scout spotted him. Jonathan's striking good looks helped him launch a modeling career, which naturally turned into acting.
Being raised by a single mom, Meyers didn't have the kind of cash-on-hand to get the white smile that other actors have or even standard dental care. Once he started to make it big, of course, he could afford plenty for himself and his dear old mum, and he now sports a set of perfect veneers.
Kirsten Dunst
Starting out as a child actress, Dunst has managed to avoid the pitfalls that a lot of celebs fall into and has kept her career going for decades. She's made plenty of unique choices over the years, including not getting too much work done on her teeth. She was always quite happy with them but knew that a little bit of work would keep her getting roles.
She got an extra boost thanks to a little bit of straightening and whitening to go along with her pretty smile. Dunst is no longer spending much time in the limelight since she's now a busy mom, but she still does some TV work.
Jordyn Woods
Like a lot of details of her life, Jordyn Woods's dental history is a bit of a controversy. During her youth, she had a prominent tooth gap – it became something that fans latched on to since she had said that she would never fix it. In her own words, she didn't care about blending in with the rest of society.”
We jump ahead to 2018, and Jordyn has decided to get veneers, which changed her entire look quite radically. A lot of fans gave her grief over the choice. Jordyn's explanation was that she just felt like a change, and it CERTAINLY wasn't because she was self-conscious about the gap in her teeth.
Emma Thompson
Hollywood is a young person's game, which means that people who are reaching up into the mature decades have to make changes to stay relevant. While Emma Thompson ranks with Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts as one of the most talented leading ladies, she still decided to update her look with some dental work.
Her teeth weren't terrible – if anything, a bit old-school – but with braces and some whitening, her classy appearance has been upgraded even further. But of course, even the ugliest teeth in the world would be fine with a talent of her caliber.
Holly Willoughby
This name might not be known to a lot of people, but Holly Willoughby is a well-known TV presenter over in England. She works on both "Dancing on Ice" and ITV's "This Morning," so her job comes with a lot of smiling. She wanted her pearly whites – which were already quite good, if somewhat crooked – to be pearlier and whiter.
She now sports a straight, brilliant set of teeth that are still natural for a smile that beams out at millions of TV watchers every day. She seems to enjoy her new look even more than her old one.
Roberto Firmino
The Brazilian soccer player plays for the British Liverpool team and for his national team. For years he had everything going for him. Everything except for his teeth. By the looks of it, he too realized that something had to be done.
Apparently, he had them whitened, he had them straightened and he had some small chips filled in. A complete overall to improve his performance.
Ronaldinho
There is a lot we can say to slag Ronaldinho off, however, there is not a lot we can say about his soccer performances. In his prime, he was the best of the best, and even today he is considered one of the best players of his generation. But what about those teeth?
In 2013 Ronaldinio said enough is enough and went through extensive dental work. He said farewell to his goofy grin and left one of his trademarks behind.
Jurgen Klopp
The Liverpool manager is one of the best soccer managers in the world. He began his soccer life as a player, became a coach in 2001, and has been coaching ever since. His bottom row teeth have been through their own share of progress over the years.
As it seems, with the money so do the opportunities come, and Klopp took the opportunity when money came his way. In 2017, fans began noticing that something about his smile had changed. Klopp hasn't stopped smiling since.
Gareth Bale
It takes more than knowing how to kick a ball to become of the greatest soccer players in the world. And being British isn't enough either. Gareth Bale realized this a few years ago and came to terms that if he wanted to be remembered, he had to do something about those teeth.
So now that his teeth are fixed, he can sit back and allow the title of "one of the most talented soccer players in the world" to float above him. It wouldn't have worked without those teeth being repaired.
Luka Modric
Luka Modric was born in 1985 with a crooked set of teeth, but a great talent for soccer. That talent didn't help his teeth get any straighter and while he was building his soccer reputation, he was also planning to get those teeth sorted.
These days, Modric plays for Real Madrid and for his national team, Croatia. He has a rich soccer history with Tottenham and the outcome of his teeth-fixing procedure was not what either he or we expected.
Philippe Coutinho
As Coutinho grew up in one of the poorest areas of Rio De Janeiro, it does not come as a surprise to us, that he came into adulthood with a bad set of teeth. He took his fate into his own hands and gave them a good professional whitening treatment.
Since then, his dazzling white smile has been all over social media. Coutinho doesn't escape the press like he used to and basically has accepted what a successful soccer player's life is all about.
Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard has been all over the press concerning his teeth, and not because of a transformation they went under. Some people have to take care of their teeth when least expected.
Almost 20 years ago, Gerard had to go under emergency teeth treatment just a few hours before the semi-final game of the champion league tournament. He saw an opportunity and he jumped at it. He came out with a polished set of teeth, but no trophy in his hand.
Fabio Cannavaro
In the early 1990s, when Fabio Cannavaro joined the big boy's league by playing for Napoli, the last thing he thought was that the day will come when his teeth too will have to be upgraded to suit the part.
Now, years later, one cannot ignore the dazzling white and straight teeth this player has. Too bad he doesn't play for Napoli anymore.
Cafu
Back in the 1990s, Cafu was one of the biggest names in the world of soccer. Just like the 21st century's Messi, he was noticed before anyone else. And so were his teeth.
Like many, Cafu had transparent braces put on, making the dental treatment as tolerable as possible. Between you and us, even if he wouldn't go through the teeth-straightening process, he would have still been considered one of the greatest ball players in the world.
Lionel Messi
He hasn't even reached his 40s and he is at his peak. He has more money than we will ever have, he is considered one of the best soccer players the world has ever known, and yes, he had a teeth issue.
He is a true phenomenon on the field with a reputation and a career any soccer player can only dream of, and he is also no fool as he indicated his teeth were far from perfect, and he went off and did something about it.
Antoine Griezmann
Antoine Griezmann is one of Atletico Madrid's greatest names. He is also a key player for the French national team who consider him one of their biggest stars, if not THE greatest. Have you ever noticed the transformation his teeth have gone through?
Like everything he does on the soccer field, his teeth too had to be perfect. So, quietly, without anyone noticing, he one day joined the game with a brand new sparkling set.
Zinedine Zidane
For those who followed soccer during the late 1990s, Zinedine Zidane is a name no one can forget. It seems that everything about him has aged, except for his smile which appears to be younger.
As a player, Zidane only cared about striking the goals and counting the dollars. However, these days, he plays the coach so a decent set of teeth was mandatory.
Lukas Podolski
In the early 2000s, Lukas Podolski began playing in the senior league and joined FC Köln. Nowhere in his contract did it say that the day would come when those teeth will have to be sorted. But sure enough, the day had come.
For almost 18 years, Podolski played for his German national team, not disappointing on the pitch or in front of the press with his perfectly polished teeth. Not only was he an amazing soccer player, but he also came with a straight set.
Neymar Jr.
One of our Brazilian entries on the list is presumably one of the most successful athletes (not only soccer players) in the world. After signing a contract with PSG, it was time not only to kick the ball but also to do something about his smile.
He had what is known as dental veneers, which make the teeth look pure white, but also protect them especially when on the field.
Christian Pulisic
The American soccer player plays not only for his national team, but also adorns the field in his Chelsea uniform. Not only that, but he has also been earning an obscene amount of money and he has known exactly what to do with it.
A set of bright white teeth may or may not bring Pulisic closer to the cup of the Premier League, but our guess is that it will probably take more than just a pretty smile to reach that goal.
Gerard Pique
An incredible name and a phenomenal player, Pique has been playing for Barcelona for over a decade now, which explains the transformation his mouth had to go under.
It still amazes us how these grand names insist on smiling way too often after giving their teeth a complete overhaul. We mean, they had it all before. The vivid smile didn't make their check any fatter.
Fernando Torres
With a resume behind him of playing with the best soccer teams in the world, it is no surprise why Fernando Torres had to maintain his smile. He invested some of the money he was making into his face rather than his feet.
These days, Torres manages Atletico Madrid U19 which followed the orthodontic and brace treatment he had.
Landon Donovan
The Californian soccer player had his days of fame when he played for LA Galaxy, Bayern Munich, and Everton. He hasn't been playing for quite a while now, however, this doesn't mean he didn't take the time to polish up his smile.
The years have not really done any good to Landon's hairline, but we can't ignore the fact that although his forehead got more real estate, he has not neglected his teeth.
Gabriel Batistuta
He is the pride of the Argentinian soccer world and he is without a doubt, the pride of his dentist. This is almost like Swan Lake, just in the soccer version of the tale.
We can argue about his overall looks, and if he is good-looking or not, but one thing is certain and no question about it — His orthodontist knew exactly what he was doing
